Centering around the values of family, connection and nature, The Elevated Bowl has the ‘horiatiki’ in mind. The village Greek salad. If you’ve had the experience of poking your fork into the shared salad bowl, you know what I’m talking about. While now, we may pour the initial serving into our plate, somehow, towards the end of the meal, our fork is drawn to the bowl to chase the last tomatoes and dip our bread to capture the magic that has settled at the bottom of the bowl. A natural response to what is nourishing for the soul.
A vessel inspired by Minoan pottery and the shape and structure of an ancient Greek kylix, The Elevated Bowl is hand-built coil by coil using a gorgeous warm red terra cotta clay and adorned with the signature Billy Rose Noũs symbol.
Our hope is that the bowl remains close in reach for shared daily ritual.
Materials: Red terra cotta clay, underglaze, glaze.
Approximate size: 4 inches (not including handles) x 8.5” inches
Care instructions: Handwash with dish soap and water. While strong enough to be used as daily dish ware, terracotta clay is less strong than stoneware so please treat your piece with love and care.
